Have you asked the question while buying your new smart phone, BlackBerry or iPhone, and hope you make the right decision? If you have, then I am setting out to answer that question for you. I just received my new iPhone 4 and will be setting it up later today. If presentation were the deciding factor the iPhone would win hands down. Is it just me or does Apple really know how to present the product to the customer? The phone isn’t even turned on yet and I’m impressed.
But enough about packaging, lets talk about the battle. Here’s what I plan to do over the next few weeks. I will check in every couple of days and update you on how everything is turning out. My BlackBerry Curve 9300 is already set up with one of my email addresses and phone numbers. I should have the iPhone ready by tomorrow with another email I use as well as a another number. This will allow for daily use of both devices to get a true feel for which one will be the eventual victor.
By looks alone the iPhone is pretty slick and probably wins. But this isn’t a fashion show. The real test will be over the next few weeks on how both function. As a long time BlackBerry user I have doubts that the iPhone will perform as well as a business tool. There is no doubt that the iPhone is a better media device but I don’t think that’s the real contest here. If you only care about video’s, music, games, and apps you probably have already answered the question of which device you want. But if you are like me and are looking for the best business device, check back every few days and see how the battle goes.
