Setup:
The setup of my new iPhone has gone well.I loaded the iTunes software (that all Apple products connect and communicate with) with no issues. I connected the new iPhone, setup my new apple user account, and ran a sync that to my amazement automatically populated my iPhone contacts from my Outlook contacts. Next I set up my email and once again another great perk, my folders from Outlook are part of my mailbox automatically. Once again, nice and easy.
If you compare setting up a BlackBerry to the iPhone I would say the iPhone is a bit of a more user-friendly process (for computer literate people). I could see that people who just want to turn the phone on and make calls may get a little frustrated having to install software and set up a user name that is required for your iPhone.
The BlackBerry software compared to iTunes is pretty basic. It is a program that allows for backups and file sharing. As for the automatic contact population and my Outlook folders being their, maybe that is possible with the BlackBerry, but it is definitely not as easy.
So once again the iPhone is doing better than the BlackBerry. This is not a good sign for us BlackBerry lovers. I am sure I should have some BlackBerry +’s and some iPhone issues in my next post. I know already that typing on the iPhone will take some getting comfortable with.
